How to Download Old Flash Games for Free on Your PC

Last update on through Aoife McCambridge

Are you nostalgic for classic Flash games? We have great news for you: you can play them all on your PC with the Flashpoint application, which gives you access to no less than 38,000 great games!

Originally developed by Macromedia before being acquired by Adobe, Flash technology saw its heyday in the 2000s, when the most popular online games and applications relied on Flash to run. Today, for security reasons and more, Flash technology is on the verge of being abandoned forever. Adobe announced in 2017 that it would stop supporting Flash at the end of 2020. Since then, all the tech giants (Apple, Facebook, Google, etc.) and major browsers (Chrome, Edhe, Firefox) have gradually adopted new formats. like HTML5 to replace Flash once and for all.

Before a significant part of Internet history disappeared forever, various initiatives were launched in an attempt to preserve classic video games created in Flash. The goal is to allow nostalgic people to continue playing games on their PC, locally and for free. This is how you can do it too!

How to install Flashpoint

The independent developer, BlueMaxima, has compiled a catalog of 38,000 Flash games, accessible by installing the free Flashpoint software, compatible with all operating systems, from Windows 7.

1) Open your browser and go to the BlueMaxima page.

2) Click on the Download Flashpoint 7.1 link to access the downloads section.

3) You can now choose between the Flashpoint 7.1 Ultimate version, which will install ALL Flash games on your PC (the file weighs 288 GB), or Flash point 7.1 Infinite, a much lighter version (296 MB) which will then allow you to choose the games you want to download. We recommend the latter.
